"Medical Cannabis in Your Workplace - Your Obligations and Options" presented by Ryan D. Nelson, Esq., SPHR, Utah President, Employers Council.
By March 1st of 2020, the Utah Department of Health will begin accepting applications for medical cannabis patient cards. Eight medical cannabis "pharmacies" will open in March of 2020. Although medical cannabis has been legal since December of 2018, employers must be ready to properly respond to and manage employees who qualify to use medical cannabis. This session will provide situational guidance to employers in three key areas of compliance. It will also guide employers to balance safety concerns, legal obligations, and employee retention.
